300th Anniversary of Russian Academy of Sciences
In 2024, the Russian Academy of Sciences celebrated its 300th anniversary. This momentous date is significant not only for the scientific community, but also for the country as a whole. Over the three centuries of the Academy's history, its composition, state status, and scientific focus have changed. But one thing has remained unchanged - the role of the Academy of Sciences as the country's main scientific institution.
Founded in 1724 by Peter the Great, the RAS gave a strong impetus to Russian science, which determined the development of Russia for several generations. Today, the Russian Academy of Sciences has established itself as one of the largest scientific institutions in the world. The Academy maintains relations with a number of foreign partners, including UN agencies, WTO, IMF, G20, OIC, as well as non-governmental organizations (Davos Forum, Carnegie Group, etc.).
At the interregional and regional level, the RAS emphasizes interaction with the CIS, EAEU, expands its partnership with the SCO, BRICS and APEC. We sincerely wish the Academy success and new scientific achievements!
